Spouters Stump 2009

Solihull Speakers Club took part in the Spouters Stump Contest. Run by Stratford & South Warwickshire Club, this Contest is one of the inter-club contests held throughout the year between the 5 Clubs in the South Midlands Area.

The Solihull Team was made up of Chairman: John Wood with Speakers: Jez Cribb, Alison Bennett and Lorraine Mathers. The speech titles were set as "Work", "Rest", and "Play", good titles that offered plenty of scope for variety.

The rules of this contest specify that one member of each team must not have taken part in this contest before and this year that was Jez.

With such an excellent team it was not surprising that we came second and the judges announced it to be a very difficult choice and a very close-run thing.
