Solihull Trophy 2011

Congratulations to the team!

Each year Speakers Clubs in the South Midlands Area compete for the Solihull Trophy. This year we are delighted to say it was won by Solihull Speakers Club. The contest took place on 1 April and there were four members in each team, one acting as Chair and the other three speaking in turn on April, Fool and Tricks. The first photograph shows Sarah Frend (Contest Chair), Melvin Evans (Chief Judge), Claire Laland (Club President), Jeremy Cribb (Trick), Bob Fernie (April), and George Morris (Fool). The second photo is THE HAPPY TEAM! Well done all.

It was a very enjoyable evening with several clubs competing. In addition the Club held a raffle for Save the Children and were pleased to raise £140 for this very worthwhile charity. The last meeting of the season will be on 25 May. The Club reopens in September.
