Solihull Speakers Club - Speech Competition - 2009
At the Club’s annual speech competition on 25th November we were entertained by a variety of speeches. However, congratulations go to the winner Richard Wallwork for his speech entitled Ceroc. Richard kept the attention of all the audience and enlightened not a few on the intricacies of this dance phenomenon. The runner-up was Alison Bennett with a speech titled Generation Y. The judges were Brian and Carolyn Micklethwaite from Wolverhampton Speakers Club and Anne Hewitt a past member. The standard was high and the judges admitted they had a difficult job. The speeches showed a wide variety of interest and the judges commended everyone on their eye contact and audience rapport. Subjects included In the wallet of the beholder, The Magic Carpet, Gizza a job, and DIY.
